North Little Rock Community Concert Band’s first 2013 performance set for May 3

The North Little Rock Community Concert Band will present its first outdoor concert of 2013 on Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at the Lakewood Village amphitheater. The all volunteer wind band conducted by Music Director Rico Belotti will be joined by the Pine Bluff Community Band under the direction of Jerry Williams in a performance that Belotti calls “With a Little Help From Our Friends.”

Each band will present varied musical selections and then combine to perform a medley of classic American gospel tunes called “Old Tent Meeting” by arranger James Ployhar, Carmen Dragon’s arrangement of “America the Beautiful” and Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” The hour long, family friendly concert is free to the public and lawn chairs or blankets are recommended.

For more information about the concert or the NLR Community band call 758-2576 or visit www.nlrcommunityband.com. In the event of rain the concert will be canceled with no rain date. The next performance of the NLR Band will be on Friday, June 7, at Lakewood Village, which is on McCain Boulevard between North Hills Boulevard and McCain Mall.
