NLRWC’s annual membership tea set for Aug. 5

The North Little Rock Woman’s Club (NLRWC) will host its annual Membership Tea in August. This is an opportunity for women in the community to attend and learn more about the volunteer organization. The NLRWC is a non-profit organization which was organized in 1958. The object of the club is the development of fellowship among residents and their assimilation into civil life and social activities of the community.

The NLRWC holds fundraising events throughout the year and then distributes the funds within the City of North Little Rock. The club has awarded scholarships to North Little Rock High School students, purchased Dictionaries which were distributed to third grade students, and made contributions to programs for the elderly. Other charities have included the North Little Rock Post Prom, the Baptist Health Foundation, North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club, Friendly Chapel F.L.A.M.E, River City Ministry, North Little Rock Police Athletic League, Camp Quality, ARC of Arkansas, the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Arkansas, “Our Club”, the Shepherd’s Center and Laman Library.

The NLRWC’s annual Membership Tea will be held Monday, Aug. 5, from 1- 3 p.m. at the Woman’s Club House located in Burns Park at 401 West Military Drive. Anyone interested in learning more about this wonderful service organization is encouraged to attend.
