On Saturday, Sept. 28, Crestwood Elementary School had a Day of Service also known as the Green Apple Day of Service, according to event organizer Tammy Leker. During the day’s event, volunteers had a great day to help collect electronics and household batteries for recycling and safe disposal. The North Little Rock Police Department also were on hand to collect and safely discard prescription drugs. The event was also designed to help the school get ready for this school year and the work accomplished was based on the number of volunteers who showed during the event.
