Church to mark start of World War I

Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock will have a Commemoration Service marking the 100th Anniversary of the declaration of World War I. The service will be at 6 p.m. next Monday in the Sanctuary of Levy Baptist 3501 Pike Ave.

Cary Bradburn, Historian for the North Little Rock History Commission, will be speaking on the topic of Faith during the war and also how and why America got involved in the war.

The History Commission will also set up a pictorial display of WWI photos from Camp Pike (currently Camp Robinson) and Fort Roots in the fellowship hall that can be viewed before and after the service.

During the service the hymns sung and scriptures read all appeared in various hymn and devotion books given to the troops.

“We welcome the entire community to share in this unique service” says Pastor Steven Tiner.
