Our Applied Light coffeehouse is examining “Angels Among Us” each Wednesday night through May 28. Angels are mentioned in over half of the Bible’s 66 books and every New Testament writer confirms their existence. They are a part of the unseen realm of God’s universe and a part of our lives today. We welcome Rev. Luke Conway as our new Senior Pastor on July 1, replacing Rev. Richard Lancaster, who was recently promoted to District Superintendent. Conway was formerly senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Maumelle, where he has been since 2006. His wife is Melanie and they have three children: sons Zack, 19; and Pierce, 14; and a daughter, Sydney, 10. He is a graduate of North Little Rock Northeast High School, and Hendrix College. He received his master’s in divinity from Duke and doctorate of divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary.
Beyond his service in ministry, he loves spending time with family, travel, anything outdoors, the Razorbacks, horses and he has played the guitar since he was a kid. Please join us in welcoming Conway and his family to Lakewood.

Christian writers conference to be in NLR
The Little Rock American Christian Writers will host its fourth annual writers conference at Summit Church, 6600 Crystal Hill Road, North Little Rock, AR, on Saturday, May 17.
The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. and last until to 3:30 p.m.
The keynote speaker, Darcy Pattison is an award winning author, blogger and writing teacher . Her books have been published in eight languages. She was also voted one of the Top Ten Bloggers for 2013.
Breakout sessions will be led by:
Shannon Vannatter, will share “Cut the Fluff: How to Write a Great Read.”
Deborah Howard, will discuss elements that will lead to getting a book published.
