North Little Rock

Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, 1723 Schaer, North Little Rock: The gardener quilters meets at 8:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday of the month.

The Sunday evening bible study has been resumed at 5:30 p.m, on Sunday evenings.

The Messiah in the Passover will be at 6 p.m., Sunday with Mitch Forman in the sanctuary.

The UMW Central District Spring meeting “Seeing the Power of Sisterhood,” begins at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 16 at Mablevale United Methodist Church at 10500 Woodman Street. The fee is $8.

The St. Patrick’s day luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, March 17 in the fellowship hall.

The XYZ potluck will be at noon Monday, March 25. A-I bring a meat dish.

The Holy service will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 28 in the sanctuary.

Graves Memorial Baptist Church, 4617 Oak Grove Road, North Little Rock: The ladies bible study is held at 5:30 p.m., with food and study begins at 6 p.m., each Monday night. The study being: “A Woman of Faith: Living in Jesus.”

A church wide clean-up day will begin at 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 16. We will plant flowers, prune, rake and all things you have to do to get the yard ready for spring. This will include working on the Prayer Garden on the Hill. If you have flowers or bushes you would like to share for the Prayer Garden please bring them. Let us know if they need to be planted in full sun or shade. Following the meal the church will go door to door and invite to the community Easter service.

The community Easter egg hunt will be at noon, Saturday, March 23, at Pavilion #8 at Burns Park. Celebrate the resurrection of Christ with the whole family. There will be different age-appropriate egg hunts for toddlers through fifth grade with games and a furry friend. Lunch will be provided.

Community movie night “The Passion of Christ,” will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 24.

The kids Easter egg hunt will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 27 with a glow in the dark egg hunt and snacks.

The Stations of the Cross will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 29. Experience designed to lead you through the last days of Jesus’ life. Experience scripture, historical accounts of the events as well as interactive opportunities to bring the events to life.

The church Easter Sunday services will be at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., Sunday, March 31 as we exalt our risen Savior - Jesus! Childcare will be offered for both services. A breakfast fellowship will be at 9:30 a.m., in the activities area. A selection of pastries and fresh fruits as well as other breakfast favorites. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m.

Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Road, North Little Rock: The church invites all to Lent, a time of self-examination, self-denial and reflection as we anticipate the joy of Easter by considering the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each Sunday in Lent the kids in Faith Trax will study “Follow the Savior.” Senior pastor Richard Lancaster’s “Behold the Man,” at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., in the sanctuary while Rev. Andrea and Cindy will examine “Stories of Faith,” at 9 a.m., and 11 a.m., services in Wesley Hall.

The annual North Little Rock community Easter service will be at 6:30 a.m., Sunday, March 24 at Lakewood Village pavilion. Holy Week begins the week of Palm Sunday, March 24 when our children’s parade will feature a real live donkey, a Passion Walk to the Stations of the Cross begins at 5 p.m. and our “real-time updates from the Holy Land” begin on facebook.

The church will dine as Jesus did at the Last Supper with a Passover Seder Meal at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28, in Wesley Hall. An abbreviated one hour version suitable for all ages. Reservations are requested. The Tenebrae “Service of Shadows,” at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 29 in the sanctuary. The children’s Easter egg hunt will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 30.

The church invites you to “Applied Light,” at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday evenings in our new coffeehouse worship community in the Gibson Hall. Enjoy some good brew, good company, live music, and practical teaching. It’s a new kind of sabbath for those who might work or just can’t make it to church on Sunday morning.

Levy Baptist Church, 3501 Pike Avenue, North Little Rock: Amboy Food Pantry Spaghetti Supper and Silent Auction from 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 15. Costs is $8 for adults, $4 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under.

North Little Rock First United Methodist Church, 6701 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock: The children will precess in both worship services on Palm Sunday waving their palm branches just as palms were waved on Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

The Way Point service at 9 a.m., will feature the Praise band, led by Rev. Steve Carr and Rev. Davis Thompson will deliver the Palm Sunday message. The sanctuary service at 11 a.m., will feature the musical drama “Upon this Rock,” base on the thoughts and dialogue of the Apostle Peter. The service will feature Chris Bradley as Peter, the Chancel Choir and Orchestra. This musical is up-beat, yet calls us forth to follow Jesus with a timely and moving message.

The children’s performance and Easter egg hunt will take place at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, with the Easter egg hunt immediately following the performance.

The traditional Maundy Thursday will be at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28 in the church sanctuary and a traditional Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 29 in the sanctuary.

Easter Sunday will be a glorious day to celebrate our Risen Savior in both services with a special message from Pastor Davis. The music will be fit for the King too. Park Hill Presbyterian Church, 3520 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock: “The Prodigal Father” will be theme of the church’s 11 a.m. worship service this Sunday, reflecting on Luke 15:11-32. Regular Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9:45 a.m. A nursery is provided for smaller children. The youth group will begin the study of Genesis at 6:30 p.m, that evening.
