Christian writer’s conference set for Summit Church in May

The Little Rock Chapter of American Christian Writers will hold its third annual Writer’s Conference on May 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Summit Church, 6600 Crystal Hill Road, North Little Rock.

“LRACW is so excited to have award-winning author Ace Collins as our keynote speaker for our third annual American Christian Writers Conference,” said Cindy Hansberry, LRACW Vice President/Treasurer. “Ace loves to write. His diverse writing skills have led him to write more than 60 best-selling titles in fiction and nonfiction: biographies, autobiographies, devotionals, historical novels, and how-to books.”

Collins newest novel, Darkness Before Dawn, is being released this month.

Beyond his writing skills, Collins has made scores of television guest appearances including Good Morning America, The Today Show, CBS This Morning, CNN, Fox and Friends, The NBC Nightly News, Entertainment Tonight, and more.

“You may know his voice as the play-by-play voice for Ouachita Tiger basketball,” she said.

Peggy Caudle Vining of Arkansas is an often published, award-winning poet. She was appointed Arkansas Poet Laureate by Governor Mike Huckabee in 2003 for her many contributions to the literary arts. Vining is a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Teacher, Songwriter, Poet, and Volunteer

“Her devotion to education, poetry and to the community has already enriched the lives of many of us,” said Hansberry.

LRACW will offer two workshops. Linda Apple will provide a program called “writing to inspire” while Jeff Abramovitz will speak on social media.

Apple is the author of Inspire! Writing From the Soul, an instructional guide to inspirational writing, and Connect! A Simple Guide to Public Speaking for Writers.

“Her personal experience stories have been published in 15 of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.,” Hansberry said. “Her devotions have also been published in numerous devotional magazines and books.”

Her inspirational novel, The Journey, is currently being represented by her agent.

Apple is also considered an inspirational/motivational speaker. She speaks at conferences, writers’ workshops, and women’s groups across the Midwest and East Coast. She currently serves as the Arkansas Regional Speaker Trainer for Stonecroft Ministries, an international organization.

She lives in Fayetteville with her husband, Neal, their five children, four children-in-love, and nine grandchildren.

Abramovitz is the owner of 2Degrees Media, a company that specializes in coaching, creating, and consulting for social media. He teaches about the importance of developing and executing a sound and effective social media plans—preparations beyond a Facebook posting calendar or a Tweet schedule.

Abramovitz said, “We can help you gain a knowledge of the social media landscape and help you execute an appropriate strategy that will help you extend your reach, expand your mission and empower your message. Why? Because your message is too important to not be heard.”

Abramovitz is also owner of JLA Ministries, a company driven by Jeff’s passion to teach men to be husbands and fathers led by integrity and through a biblical model.
