Baseball History Exhibit Opens at Laman Library

The William F. Laman Public Library has opened an exhibit entitled, “Discover Greatness: An Illustrated History of the Negro Baseball Leagues.” The exhibit is divided into five sections: Pre-1900: The Beginnings of Black Baseball, 1901-1919: The Great Independents, 1920-1931: A League of Their Own, 1932-1946: Heyday & 1947: The Color Line Falls. This exhibit will be on display in the exhibit hall until Aug. 24. Admission to the exhibit is free. For more information please call (501) 758-1720 or visit www.lamanlibrary.org. The exhibit is presented by, The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, a not-for-profit organization devoted to the preservation of Negro Leagues baseball history.
