CAC grad honored at Ozarks
Central Arkansas Christian graduate and current University of the Ozarks baseball player Mitchell Powers, a shortstop, was named to the American Southwest Conference All-East Division Team.
Powers, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of North Little Rock finished second on the team in batting (.338) and runs (27), third in hits (49), fourth in total bases (54) and fifth in RBI (16) and doubles (5). He recorded 12 multiple-hit games and had six three-hit games. A four-year starter, he finishes his career as a four-time All-Conference performer.
Powers starred at CAC where he helped the Mustangs win the state championship his senior season.
Ryan Spurlock, 15, of Maumelle placed first in the 15 year old boys division of the ASGA Greater Little Rock Open at War Memorial Golf Course on April 27/28th. He shot a 62 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday giving him a two day total of 135, winning his division.
The following weekend he competed in the ASGA Monk Wade Jr. Classic at the First Tee in Little Rock. He made a hole in one on No. 8 on the par 3 course. This is was his second hole in one in 2 months.
Spurlock is a freshman at Maumelle High School and is the son of Ross Spurlock of Maumelle and Andrea and Mark Mann of Little Rock.
