For the second year in a row, former Arkansas Razorback running back Darren McFadden will provide instruction and fun at the 2013 Darren McFadden Football ProCamp.
Presented by Verizon, the camp is Thursday, June 6 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and is open to boys and girls in first through eighth grades. Currently a member of the Oakland Raiders, McFadden will be joined in instructing by some of the top prep and college coaches in the area.
Held at Maumelle High School, the focus will be on the fundamentals of football with small groups to make sure each camper gets personalized instruction. Campers will experience various stations that concentrate on the fundamentals of football. McFadden will also discuss the finer points and highlights of the game of football in addition to other aspects. Parents and guests are encouraged to listen to camp guests at designated locations.
A camp store will be available, and campers are encouraged to purchase a camp bracelet for $5. With the bracelet, campers can get two sport drinks, lunch and one snack.
Born in North Little Rock, McFadden attended Oak Grove High School and was the Arkansas High School Player of the Year. In 2005 as a freshman with the Razorbacks, he was named SEC Freshman of the Year, freshman All-American and Newcomer of the Year by ESPN.
