Marlins tie for second at Otter Creek meet

The Maumelle Marlins finished in a tie for second at the Otter Creek Relays over the weekend.

The Marlins and the Otters both finished with 341 team points to finish behind the first place Conway Crocodiles, who had 488 points.

Maumelle did have 21 swimmers finish in first place in various events and divisions.

6-Under Boys

Zane Sims had a gold win in the freestyle and a bronze win the butterfly. Ethan Harthcock took first in the bronze backstroke.

6-Under Girls

Ava Dunn finished first in the gold back and the silver free. Savannah Shelley won the bronze back.

7-8 Boys

Will Sims had maybe the best day of any Marlin, taking platinum firsts in the back, butterfly and individual medley, along with a gold breast. Ty Wunderl took the silver butterfly, while Roman Avguchenko won the bronze breast.

9-10 Boys

Zack Marshall took the gold freestyle, back and butterfly, and also a bronze breast.

9-10 Girls

Eden Hamlin won the bronze free and breast. Anna Carden took the silver free, while Anna Bucher won the bronze IM.

11-12 Boys

Aiden Lively won the silver free and IM.

11-12 Girls

Kammie Marshall won the platinum back and the gold free and butterfly.

13-14 Boys

John Ellis Peyton swept through his bronze events, winning the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and IM. Jacob Sutterfield won the silver free.

13-14 Girls

Ellie Shelton won the gold freestyle and IM, along with a silver win in the butterfly.

15-18 Boys

Josh Abbott took first in the silver breast.

15-18 Girls

Audrey Shelton had gold wins in the free and breast, Jordan Marshall won the silver free, and Lilly Hutson took first in the bronze breast.
