Stephen Frazier, 27, of 153 Ridgeland Drive in Maumelle was arrested on Nov. 20 and charged with two bank robberies that same day. Little Rock police said Frazier was first charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of property theft in conjunction with the robbery of Summit and First Security banks, according to Sgt. Cassandra Davis. She said no weapon was visible although he used a note in each robbery.
Davis said a “slender white male” handed bank employees a note that he was robbing the bank. By the time police arrived, the robber had fled on foot, she said.
The first call came in at 10:41 a,m. at Summit on Rodney Parham Drive in western Little Rock and the second call came in at 11:25 p.m at the First Security Bank at 5600 Kavanaugh Boulevard in the Heights Section of Little Rock.
Davis said it was apparent from the videotapes that the same man committed both crimes wearing the same identical clothing and in the same fashion.
The robberies were similar to three other bank robberies that occurred last summer, Davis said but Frazier has not been charged in the other three robberies.
However, the next day Frazier was charged in a recent robbery of a Walgreen’s Drugstore where he demanded drugs and in the Nov. 13 robbery of Bank of the Ozarks on Rodney Parham in Little Rock.
Police said Frazier was a former employee of a bank in Conway and that once the photos started getting publicity, his girlfriend and family convinced him to turn himself in.
He remains in the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility on a $600,000 bond.
