Police notch two drug busts

Maumelle police executed two major drug busts last week after long investigations in each case.

Chief Sam Williams said special investigators arrested James Clements, 24, of Sherwood, on Jan. 22 and charged him with felony possession of illegal drugs with intent to deliver after finding 18 grams of marijuana and $590 police said was proceeds from the alleged sale of the marijuana.

On Jan. 23, police arrested Aaron Cloird, 23, of Little Rock and said he had 68.1 grams of marijuana, scales and plastic baggies as well as $1,866 police allege was from the sale of marijuana in his possession when he was arrested.

Cloird was charged with possession of illegal drugs with the intent to deliver and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
