Maumelle man charged with battery

An 18-year-old Maumelle man has been charged with third-degree domestic battering after he allegedly slammed a door shut on his 15-year-old sister’s foot fracturing it and then shoving her down a flight of stairs at their home in the Gables Apartments.

Lt. Jim Hansard said Da’ion Ramon Ellison, 18, of Maumelle was charged in the incident and taken by his mother to live with his father in Little Rock.

Ellison, a fry cook at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Maumelle, was arrested by officer Eli Keller at 5:15 p.m. after a compliment of Maumelle police answered the call.

Officers Casey Canady, Gregory Roberts, Cpl. Clifton McClintock and Sgt. Scotty Bryant all responded to the 911 call.

The teenaged girl was transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital by Metropolitian Emergency Medical Services ambulance.

Hansard said Ellison was given a court date and released on a $575 bond.
