Incidents reported to Maumelle Police through December 27:
Long Fisher Road: On Dec. 20, James Andrew Stahl, 25, of Alexander was arrested and charged with DWI, refusing to take a Breathalyzer test and resisting arrest after Sgt. Dustin Ivey said he saw a Honda Accord parked in front of the Shell Station with a man outside the car vomiting. Stahl had bloodshot eyes, and told Ivey he was “coming from Downtown Little Rock and headed for home in Alexander.” He couldn’t explain why he was in Maumelle but another passenger, Dylan Jones said the two along with Melanie Smith and Jeffery Sifford were going to Visions nightclub, just outside the Maumelle city limits. Ivey said Stahl refused to comply when arrested and it took two officers to take him to his car and handcuff him but he still resisted. At Maumelle Police Headquarters Stahl became “argumentative and rude,” Ivey said. Stahl failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a Breathalyzer test after registering 0.4 on a portable Breathalyzer test. He was taken to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility and booked in.
2 Ouachita Drive: On Dec. 21, Andrew Dewayne Johnson, 30, of Benton was arrested and charged with DWI, driving left of center and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after a traffic stop. Officer Jeremy Newlin, Sr., said he saw a Pontiac Grand Am pull into the Exxon parking lot where he was, turned around and left and began driving left of the center lane several times so he followed. The car was driving very slowly, he said and refused to stop when he initiated his blue lights and continued to drive eventually stopping on Ouachita Drive. Newlin said Johnson “had glassy eyes and slurred speech.” Police said they found several empty beer bottles in the back of Johnson’s vehicles and that his driver’s license was suspended fro a prior DWI and an active warrant from Sherwood for hot checks. He refused to take field sobriety tests, take a Breathalyzer test or sign any documents, Newlin said. He was also taken to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility and booked in.
Maumelle Boulevard and Arnold Palmer Drive: On Dec. 22, Rod Enrique Contreras, 48, of Maumelle was arrested and charged with DWI, careless and prohibitive driving and improper lane change after a traffic stop by officer Sterling Pruitt. Pruitt said he saw a Nissan Altima driven by Contreras, driving all over the road using both lanes of Maumelle Boulevard, a turn lane but mostly driving right down the center of the road. Officer Sterling Pruitt said Contreras had difficulty standing, failed field sobriety tests and registered 0.200 blood alcohol count on a Breathalyzer tests.
20710 Arkansas State Highway 365 North: On Dec. 21, Lee Alstone Huguet, 20, of North Little Rock was arrested and charged with alleged criminal contempt of court on an outstanding warrant from Maumelle District Court. Officer Sterling Pruitt said he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Mary Paul that he stopped for no turn signal.
Tuscany Circle: On Dec. 21, Justin Fiser, 32, of Bryant was arrested and charged with no tail light and both felony and three misdemeanor counts of possession of controlled substances and police said they found numerous drugs including Roxicodone, Klonopin, oxandrolone and Suboxone after a traffic stop. He was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility and booked in.
Woodland Drive: On Dec. 24, Casi Fuchs, 28, of Conway was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of drug possession and second degree criminal impersonation after officer Gregory Roberts answered a call about a suspicious person in the wood line off of Woodland Drive. Roberts said officers found rolling papers, marijuana residue, and a “one-hitter” pipe. Fuchs said she first gave police her sister’s identification information because she had an outstanding warrant from Conway. She was held and released to Conway Police.
650 Edgewood Drive, U.S. Pizza: On Dec. 23, Calvin Fairchild, 47, of Hamburg was arrested at work and charged with revocation of his parole after Maumelle police were requested to pick him up and return him to Ashley County.
33 Spring Drive: On Dec. 24, Russell and Jennifer Kenley, reported the theft of a Remington 870 12-gauge shogun and a Turbo XLT-2 crossbow in a burglary of their home after first noticing an Apple iPad missing. The two contacted a friend of their son and retrieved the iPad then later discovered the missing weapons.
500 Valencia Drive: On Dec. 26, Kristi Bryant, 23, told police she came home on Dec. 26 to find a black male carrying her laptop computer out of her apartment. She said her neighbors attempted to stop him but he took off running and tried to cover his face with his jacket but several residents recognized him and told police whom he visited in the complex.
2002 Murphy Drive: On Dec.27, an 86-year-old Maumelle resident reported fraudulent charges on her credit card although she still had possession of the card.
