112 Audubon Drive: On Jan. 27, Jimmy Don Purifoy, 43, of Maumelle was questioned about an alleged aggravated assault after a Benton man claimed Purifoy allegedly shot at him with a pistol following an altercation in a Kroger checkout line. Stout said he saw Purifoy arguing with a cashier at Kroger, saying it was about a cell phone and the man was “very loud and started cursing” the cashier and then slammed the cell phone on the floor in anger. Stout said he told the man he was talking to a lady and Purifoy allegedly told him he would be waiting on him outside to “kick his ass.” Stout said when he drove away an 18-wheeler drove up next to him and the driver “brandished a revolver and then shot at him.” When police stopped the 18-wheeler, Purifoy said he had an altercation at Kroger but no threats were made and he did not shoot at anyone. A search of the vehicle didn’t find any weapons, police said.
6 Brittany Drive: On Jan 24, burglars struck taking $650 from a purse left in a 2013 Cadillac Escalade and a A400 semiautomatic shotgun from her husband’s Ford pickup. Nothing else was missing although both vehicles had been rummaged, police said.
