Lion’s Fish Fry Saturday

The annual Maumelle Lion’s Club Fish Fry will be held at Lake Willastein on Saturday from 4:30 — 7:30 p.m. Pond raised catfish and breaded chicken strips with all the trimmings will be served for tickets of $12 for adults, $8 for aged Ten and under. Youngsters under age three eat for free. Proceeds go to benefit the Lion’s efforts toward assisting those suffering from blindness and its prevention.

Stars dancing on May 11

The annual charity fundraiser, Stars Come Out Inc., will hold its dancing event on Saturday, May 11 from 5 — 8 p.m. at the Cabe Theater in the Wildwood Park for the Arts at 2099 Denny Road. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door.

Flag Retirement

A dignified retirement ceremony for faded, torn and tattered American Flags is scheduled for May 11 at 10 a.m. at the Lake Willastein Veteran Memorial. Jim Alberson said flags can also be dropped off at the Kroger Store in boxes between now and May 10. The event is sponsored by Maumelle veterans.
