A planned bike ride on the Big Dam Bridge on Saturday is expected to cause road delays and traffic congestion on Maumelle Boulevard.
Police Lt. Jim Hansard said that the Big Dam 100 was planned from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and includes a total of five races that range from 100 to 15 miles.
Event organizers expect thousands of riders from around the country to participate.
Food drive ongoing
Police Chief Sam Williams said that his department’s annual food drive was ongoing.
A collection box was at the police station and food could be dropped off 24 hours. Williams said can goods and non-perishable items were best.
