Do you know a child who survived leukemia?
Do you have a mother, sister or aunt whose breast cancer was found early thanks to a mammogram?
Do you have a friend or coworker who quit smoking to decrease their risk of lung cancer?
Each of these individuals benefited from the American Cancer Society’s research programs. Every day scientists supported by the American Cancer Society work to find breakthroughs that will take us one step closer to a cure. The Society has long recognized that research holds many answers to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
You can help in the fight by being a part or Maumelle’s Relay For Life - Carnival of Hope. We will be celebrating with survivors and raising funds to continue to fight for a cure at 6 p.m. on May 30 at the Rolling Oaks Soccer complex.
All community members are welcome to join in this family centered celebration. The opening lap starts at 6 p.m. and a survivor dinner will take place on the Relay grounds.
A luminary ceremony will be held at 9 p.m. to honor those who have survived the fight and remember those who have been lost. Our last lap will occur at midnight to signify the start of another precious day in our lives.
• Start a team - any and all community groups, families, neighborhoods, church groups, ext. can form a team. Come to our next team rally at 7 p.m. on April 8 at the Community Center and we will get you signed up and, or answer any questions.
