Maumelle Boulevard will soon be getting resurfaced thanks to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
Officials there said the project is to resurface 6.2 miles of Highway 100, also known as Maumelle Boulevard. The work will extend west from Interstate 430 to Murphy Drive.
Cranford Construction Company of North Little Rock was awarded the contract at $2,170,410.42.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. The project should be complete this fall, officials said.
Another project is to resurface a .9 mile stretch of McCain Boulevard in North Little Rock. From North Hills Boulevard and heading east to U.S. Highway 67.
Cranford Construction Company was also awarded this contract at $267,172.44.

This project is being funded through the State Aid City Streets Program approved by lawmakers in 2011 and voters in 2012. This program provides $20 million annually from the state motor fuels tax to assist cities with projects selected by a nine-member panel of Arkansas mayors.
