Maumelle Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 48 will host a charity golf tournament Monday at the Maumelle Country Club.
It all begins with a lunch and raffle at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start for the tournament at 1 p.m.
MFOP spokesman Sgt. Dustin Ivey said they are still recruiting teams to participate so its not too late to sign up.
Teams of four registration fees are $400.
Ivey said the tournament format is a four-person scramble, teams will be flighted following play and the top three teams in each flight will win prizes.
Every golfer receives a free T-shirt and its a wonderful opportunity to get to know Maumelle’s finest and to spend time with them on the links.
There’s no cost for lunch and refreshments. No alcoholic beverages will be served.
If you hurry there’s still time to sponsor the tournament with sponsorships ranging from a $250 bronze scholarship, a $500 silver sponsorship and a $1,000 gold sponsorship.
Funds raised will go towards the FOP’s efforts to help local families in need and their involvement in Make A Wish, Toys for Tots, Special Olympics and youth sports teams in Maumelle.
Ivey also said the FOP is in need of volunteers to assist in operating the tournament and to take care of the golfers and their guests.
