Creating a fish habitat

Ben Batten, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission family and community fishing program coordinator, Hunter Almond, a Maumelle High School senior who led the volunteer effort, Kendall Staton, another Maumelle senior, Clint Smith, another commission staffer and Michael Almond, Hunter’s Dad worked last Saturday to deposit Christmas trees at the bottom of Lake Willastein. The former live trees were brought to the drop off point by Maumelle residents and even residents of neighboring cities who learned about the opportunity to recycle he trees as a natural fish habit at Lake Willastein.
