Cedar Heights Baptist Church, 14502 Cedar Heights Road, North Little Rock: Traditional Worship Service begins at 8:30 a.m., Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.,Worship Service and Children’s Church for ages three years through second grade begins at 10:45 a.m.

Awana Groups meet at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Evening worship starts at 6 p.m., the Wednesday Night meal is served 5:15-6:15 p.m.; Age 10 and above, $5, children five to nine years, $3.50 and children four years and younger are free. PraiseKids start at 6:15 p.m., Youth Service at 6:30 p.m. and evening services at 6:30 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Maumelle, Corner of Maumelle Blvd and Millwood Circle: Sunday school begins at 9 a.m., and Sunday morning worship at 10:15 a.m., evening worship is at 5 p.m. in the main sanctuary. Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church, 449 Millwood Circle, Maumelle. Shepherd of Peace offers many opportunities to study the Word in Bible studies throughout the week. Sundays are packed with a variety of children’s class, a youth/ young adult class on Exodus, and an adult Bible discussion. Studies begin at 9:20 a.m. in various rooms. A Bible study is held each Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m., following prayer group. Teens meet on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. for Mid-week Teens. As always, you are encouraged to join Shepherd of Peace during their regular services each Sunday. A tradition service, which includes the Lutheran liturgy, is held each Sunday at 8 a.m. A blended service is also offered at 10:30 a.m.

Shepherd of Peace’s Mother’s Day Out, Shepherd’s Care, runs each Tuesday and Thursday during the PCSSD school calendar. The times are 9:05 a.m. to 2 p.m. The staff is trained in CPR and has years of experience working with pre-school age children. Shepherd’s Care is currently enrolling for the 2014-2015 school year. writers conference to be in NLR

The Little Rock American Christian Writers will host its fourth annual writers conference at Summit Church, 6600 Crystal Hill Road, North Little Rock, AR, on Saturday, May 17.

The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. and last until to 3:30 p.m.

The keynote speaker, Darcy Pattison is an award winning author, blogger and writing teacher . Her books have been published in eight languages. She was also voted one of the Top Ten Bloggers for 2013.

Breakout sessions will be led by:

Shannon Vannatter, will share “Cut the Fluff: How to Write a Great Read.”

Deborah Howard, will discuss elements that will lead to getting a book published.
