Maumelle veteran actor Bill Russell has recently added to his extensive acting resume by playing the role of a priest in a nationally syndicated set of TV commercials. Russell, a retired University of Arkansas Cooperative Extensive public relations executive also teaches public relations at the University of Central Arkansas at Conway. The Vietnam veteran has played parts in several movies made in Arkansas including “The Blue and the Gray,”and acted in 75 TV commercials.
These commercials were created and produced by Little Rock based Aristotle for the Atlantic City, New Jersey Restaurant Week campaign entitled “Confessions” scheduled to run during the month of March all along the east coast.
Russell has also recently written a song entitled, “It Ain’t Me” being considered by the Mississippi rock group, “Three Doors Down.” In 1977 Russell won an Oklahoma contest for the state song “Cherokee Tears” and in 1983 finished third in a Music City Songwriters contest for his song, “Laughing through the Walls.”
