July 7

Jessie Williams, 42, of Ward was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and no driver’s license. The arrest took place after police stopped his vehicle along the 5000 block of Highway 161 at a DWI checkpoint. Police asked him for his identification but he only had a Texas ID. Officers noticed a green leafy substance in a baggie within his vehicle.

Nathaniel Clark of Sherwood was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license after police stopped his vehicle along the 8000 block of South First Street at a sobriety checkpoint. Police reported they could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Robert Wagner, no address given, was arrested on a charge of third-degree battery after police responded to 609 Hill St. in regards to a domestic battery. According to the police report, Wagner got into an argument with a woman, grabbed her around the neck and pushed her. Police observed scratch marks on the woman’s neck consistent with nail marks.

July 2

David Brown, 35, of Jacksonville was arrested on charges of third-degree domestic battery, third-degree battery, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana after police responded to the home in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, police made contact with a woman who said Brown came out of the home yelling and cursing. Brown was advised when the officers arrived to remain in his truck and stop yelling. Brown continued cursing and yelling and would not follow the officers’ commands.
