Sept. 24

Jackie Jackson, 23, of Jacksonville was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance after police responded to 2213 Linda Lane in reference to a man wanting to speak with an officer.

Sept. 23

James Mills, 25, of Jacksonville was arrested on a charge of theft of property (shoplifting) after police were called to the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2000 John Harden Drive, in response to a shoplifter in custody.

Carly Poppa, 22, of Cabot was arrested on a charge of third-degree battery after police responded to 855 Jane Drive Apt. A in response to a domestic disturbance.

Christopher Thomas, 28, of Cabot was arrested on a charge of third-degree assault on a family member after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 855 Jane Drive Apt. A.

Jarrod Bowers, 22, of North Little Rock was arrested on a charge of driving on a suspended license after police responded to 307 Bellevue Circle Apt. B in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Accidents

Sept. 12

Ashley Williams of Jacksonville told police she was traveling northbound on John Harden Drive at 2:16 p.m. when a silver vehicle driven by Michael Jordon of Jacksonville crossed into her lane and struck her vehicle. Jordon told police he was driving southbound on John Harden when his vehicle drifted into the northbound lane and struck Williams’ red vehicle. Both vehicles sustained $1,500 worth of damage. Jordon was issued a citation for unsafe driving.

Sept. 13

Stephen Gray of Jacksonville said he was driving eastbound on West Main when he saw the brakes lights on another car driven by Katie Moore of Jacksonville come to a sudden stop. Gray said he applied his brakes in time but was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision. Gray’s vehicle sustained $4,500 in damage while Moore’s car had $5,000 in damage. A third vehicle involved in the accident, driven by Leonardo Moya of El Paso, sustained $200 worth of damage. Gray was issued a citation for careless and prohibitive driving.

Sept. 14

L.C. Thomas of Judsonia told police he was stopped at a stop sign headed northbound on James Street at Gregory Street, preparing to cross the intersection when another vehicle driven by Nathaniel Jamison of Jacksonville was traveling westbound on Gregory approaching James. Thomas said he proceeded through the stopping. Jamison applied his brakes to avoid a strike but a collision resulted. No injuries were reported. Thomas was cited for unsafe driving. Thomas’ vehicle sustained $3,000 in damage while Jamison’s vehicle had $1,500 in damage.

Sept. 15

Aubrey Gillam of Jacksonville said she was heading home and started to slow down along the 3500 block of West Main. She started hydroplaning while making a turn and struck a privacy fence twice before landing in a ditch. Damage totaled $2,500. No citations were issued.
