Pulaski County home sales up in July

Home sales in Pulaski County increased 20 percent in July, while statewide the increase was 19 percent, according to a report by the Arkansas Realtors Association.

The ARA reported that statewide home sales rose from 2,178 in July 2012 to 2,594 in July 2013. Year-to-date figures for the state were also up 10.7 percent.

In Pulaski County, sales increased from 438 homes being sold this July, compared to 364 in July 2012, according to the ARA report.

For the year to date, sales were up slightly. The report indicated 2,596 homes have been sold in Pulaski County in July 2013, compared to 2,417 sales in the same month in 2012.

The total value of the homes sold in Pulaski County was up 21.6 percent for the month, compared year over year, increasing from $71.8 million to $87.4 million. Year-to-date home sale values were up 11 percent, according to the report, increasing from $451 million in 2012 to $501 million in 2013. The statewide total was $434 million in July 2013.

The average price of the homes sold in Pulaski County was $199,575 in July 2013, up compared to $197,521 in July 2012. Year-to-date average prices were up from $186,599 in 2012 to $193,140 in 2013. The statewide average was $167,407 in July 2013.

Pulaski and Benton counties led the state in home sales in most categories.
