Open house set for today at new Jacksonville police building

Jacksonville Police Chief Gary L. Sipes and the men and women of the Jacksonville Police Department invite the public to tour its new building at 1400 Marshall Road during an open house is set for today at 5:30 p.m.

First Arkansas Bank and Trust donated the funds for the signs that have been placed on the new Police Department/Public Safety Building. The new signs include “Police Department” on the north end front of the building, and “Training / Safe Room” on the south end where the FEMA and training rooms are located.

The police department shirt patches were fashioned into large symbols or signs which were placed on the front glass entry of the building to better identify the police department’s entrance.

The donation also included the signs inside the building giving the public direction once inside. “It means a lot to the police department and the community when local business leaders, like Larry Wilson CEO of First Arkansas Bank and Trust, get involved and show their support,” said Sipes.
