March Calendar of events at Nixon Library

March 10, 17, 24 and 31 – Teen Time at 4 p.m. The library will be ‘geeking out’ this month in honor of teen tech week. We will be playing on the computers with programs like Animoto, Gimp, Scratch, and browsing 3D patterns on thingiverse. Each teen can select an item to be printed on our new 3D printer. Drinks and snacks provided. Teens only please.

March 11 – Tween Club at 4 p.m. (Games, crafts, and snacks. nine- 12 years.)

March 12 and 19 – Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. (Stories, fingerplays, songs, and crafts. Three - five years.)

March 12, 19, and 26 – Adult Game Day at noon. (Come play dominoes, poker, chess, board games or video games. You choose. Ages 18 and up.)

March 12 and 19 – After-school Storytime at 4 p.m. (Stories, crafts, and snacks. Six - eight years.)

March 7, 14, 21 and 28 – Toddler Time at 10:30 a.m. (Music, movement, stories, and playtime. 12 - 36 months.)

March 13 - Learn to Knit at noon. (Ages 13 and up. Registration required. Bring size 10 knitting needles. Free yarn provided.)

March 13 - True Stories Book Club at 2 p.m. (We will be discussing American Eve: Evelyn Nesbit, Stanford White, the birth of the “It” girl, and the crime of the century by Paula M. Uruburu. Next month’s title Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua will be discussed in April.)

March 15 – Learn to Crochet at 1:30 p.m. (Ages 13 and up. Registration required. Bring a crochet hook size H. Free yarn provided.)

March 18 – Movie: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at 5 p.m. (PG-13)

March 21 – American Girl Book Club at 1 p.m. (We will be discussing Caroline’s Secret Message by Kathleen Ernst.)

March 21 – Teen book club at 3 p.m. (We will be discussing Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimon and we will be picking up Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglass Adams. Drinks and snacks provided. )

March 25 - Nixon Book Worms at 6:30 p.m. (We will be discussing Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Eleanor Atwood. Next month’s title New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance by Elna Baker will be discussed in April.)

March 26 – Family Game Night at 4 p.m. (Games for all ages.)

March 29 – 3D Printer Demo at 3 p.m. (We will have a demonstration on how a 3D printer works as well as a 3D printer for you to try out.)
