Jacksonville needs volunteers to prepare for summer festival

The Jacksonville Parks and Recreation is now making plans for the first Jacksonville FestiVille taking place at Dupree Park on June 21 and 22.

“We are making plans for a great event and need help from the community,” said Marlo Jackson, information/marketing director for the parks and recreation department. “If you would like to volunteer, be a sponsor, have an exhibitor booth, showcase your talent on one of the stages, have ideas for the FestiVille or need additional information, please contact Dana at 982-0818 or”

Planned events include carnival rides and games, delicious food vendors, fishing derby sponsored by Ashland Chemical, 5 K, CAVBC volleyball tournament, karaoke contest, tricycle races, crawling race, children’s activities, exhibitor booths, an up and coming country act, and much more, she said.
