Jacksonville chamber gets ready to nominate new board members

The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce is in the process of electing board of director members for the next year.

Chamber members have the ability to nominate board of director members.

“You may nominate more than one individual,” states an announcement from the chamber.

In nominating someone, members are asked to consider that a Chamber of Commerce Board Member is one who:

— Has solid ethics, a strong community involvement, and a firm belief in the purpose of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce;

— Is a lead decision maker in a local business;

— Is available to attend the monthly Board of Directors meetings (third Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m.;

— Will bring energy and enthusiasm to the board;

— Is able to participate in Chamber activities, programs and meetings on a regular basis;

— Is willing to chair a Chamber of Commerce committee if asked.

“Please fax (982-1464) or return this form to the Chamber office at 200 Dupree Drive no later than Sept. 18,” said Amy Mattison, CEO of the chamber.
