Easter egg hunts planned

Jacksonville will host a traditional and underwater Easter Egg hunts on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Excell Park located at Ray Road and Southeaster Avenue.

The event will be held in a safe and fun environment where the Easter Bunny also will appear along with 2,000 eggs per age group hidden in Excell Park. All participants must arrive at Excell Park by 10:00 a.m. In case of rain, all ages will meet at the Jacksonville Community Center at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free.

It is open to the following age groups: Walking to age three, 10:15 a.m., Field 2; ages four and five, 10:45 a.m., Field 2; ages six and seven, 10:30 a.m., Field 3; Ages eight and 10, 11 a.m., Field 3.

The underwater Easter egg hunt is open to children ages five to 12-years-old to be held on Monday, March 25, at the community center pool, 5 Municipal Drive, where participants will be able to win toys and Splash Zone passes among other prizes. This event benefits the Jacksonville Boys & Girls Club and admission is $5. A pdf registration form and liability waver for this event can be found at cityofjacksonville.net. The underwater hunt is a a 2012 Program of the Year winner from the Arkansas Recreation Parks Association.
