The 27th annual Arkansas Book and Paper Show will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at the Jacksonville Community Center. Admission is $5 per person.
“The show promises to be an exciting event for collectors, historians, and those who want to view museum quality materials all available for purchase,” Jeff Baskin, show director, said. “Many dealers are from out of state bringing with them postcards, rare books, leather bound books, printed ephemera, maps, children’s books, and much more.”
There will be special displays and offerings from book and paper dealers from throughout the United States. Displays included are antiquarian, leather bound, first editions, autographed, bargain, history fact and fiction, civil war, biographical, children’s, travel, Arkansas, Texas and Southwest fiction and non-fiction books. Also included in the show are maps, collectible postcards, old photographs and related ephemera.
Some 500 readers, collectors and investors are expected to attend. At previous shows, dealers have come from Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Kansas, Canada and Arkansas. The show is sponsored by the Arkansas Booksellers Antiquarian Association.
